What is your job in company?

When I first joined the company, I was in charge of for assembling instruments in the Production Section, but now I am in the Checkout Section where I perform verifications on the operations and performance of assembled instruments. I mainly handle time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometers (TOF-SIMS). I can handle the basic inspection process on my own now, but if I encounter any issues or problems I can't solve, I consult my seniors for advice. Sometimes, I get sent on assignments as installation staff when instruments are installed.

What's the workplace atmosphere like?

I personally find it a very accommodating workplace. Of course, sometimes, if we're getting close to delivery, we might feel pressed for time, and get a little anxious, but it comes with the territory. But even at times like that, if there's something I can't figure out, the workplace environment allows me to ask others around me. The worst thing that could happen is if work stops because I don't know what's going on. If I figure it out right away, I can continue without stopping the entire process, and as a result, it helps me improve my skills as well.

What are your future dreams and goals?

When I was first transferred to the Testing Section, I was too busy just trying to learn the ropes, but now I have a little more leeway to think more carefully. In the near future, I want to be able to handle everything on my own, including problems. If I were to be transferred to a different division in the future, I'd like to join the Research and Development Department.

How do you spend your days off?

The other day, I went out drinking with my colleagues who are all about the same age as me. We had a lot of fun talking about things that only we can relate to. It made me realize how important it is to hang out with colleagues who are your own age.
