Event Report: XPS Workshop at CARIFF, Universiti Malaysia Pahang
The XPS Workshop was held at the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research in Fluid Flow (CARIFF) on November 12. The workshop gained an overwhelming number of 50 participants against our initial target of 20, managing to attract members of other higher learning institutes from Kuala Lumpur to as far as Sabah in East Malaysia.
The speaker, Dr. Hsun-yun Chang from ULVAC-PHI’s lab, provided a very comprehensive and informative knowledge sharing on surface technologies, XPS fundamental concept, its applications, sample preparations, how to interpret XPS data, etc.
The demonstration of the XPS system, PHI VersaProbe II, was carried out in the afternoon with the participants dividing up into 3 groups.
The workshop went successfully with many positive comments from the participants.
